YACK RECIPROCOL PARKING PROGRAM
AT THE UNIVERSITY OF AKRON
The Youngstown, Akron, Cleveland, Kent (YACK) Reciprocal Parking Program allows students, faculty, and staff from participating institutions— Youngstown State University, The University of Akron, Cleveland State University, Kent State University, and NEOMED—to enjoy reciprocal parking privileges across all campuses. This program is designed to provide convenience for individuals who are engaged in academic activities at multiple universities.
Eligibility and Registration
If you are a student from a participating YACK institution and are not currently enrolled at the University of Akron, you are eligible to apply for a YACK parking permit at UAkronPark. Please follow these steps to register:
1. Complete the YACK Permit Form: Download and fill out the YACK permit form [here]. Be sure to include all required information such as your name, home university, student ID, and vehicle details.
2. Submit the Form In-Person: Bring the completed form to the UAkronPark office, located at North Campus Parking Deck, 255 E Buchtel Ave., Akron, Ohio 44325-6204. Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
3. Required Documents: Along with the completed form, please bring the following:
- Student ID from your home institution
- Valid Driver’s License
4. Current or Upcoming Class Schedule
Home University Verification
Your home university parking office must verify that you hold a valid parking permit and are free from outstanding fines or fees. This verification is required before your YACK permit can be issued.
Parking Areas and Restrictions
YACK permit holders may park in designated areas at the University of Akron. Please note that YACK permits are not valid in reserved parking spaces, administration building lots, the ground level of South Campus Deck (Lot 36), the Student Union (Lot 18), the JAR Arena (Lot 57) or the Robertson Visitor Lot (25). A complete list of eligible parking locations will be provided upon registration.
Terms and Conditions
By submitting the YACK permit form, you agree to abide by UAkronPark’s Rules and Regulations. You confirm that you are a valid and current member of the YACK program, hold a valid parking permit at your home university, and will use the parking facilities at the University of Akron only as intended.
